I have a 1985 mustang gt H.O. 4bbl and every time it starts getting warm it starts to cut out really bad and wants to die especially when I press on the gas. I've replaced the fuel pump, plugs and wires, fuel filter, the distributor is pretty new, and cleaned the carb but nothing works. A mechanic at my work said it might be the ignition module so i replaced that and it got better for about a week and then started again. It seems to get worse each time I drive it. Do you think the problem is in the wiring to my ignition or is it something else. PLEASE HELP!!

I had a simular problem in my carb'd 86. when i would stop at a light and then try to go my car would stall. Turns out I had a piece of dirt keeping my float from seating properly and gas was pooling on the butterfly then when i gave it gas it died. It wouldn't happen all the time but only whenn there was lots of traffic. Does your car fire up right away after it dies or does it act like it is flooded? i'm just guessing we need a bit more info

Your hardest issue is to troubleshoot to find out if this is a fuel- or ignition-related issue. My first guess is that you have a fuel starvation problem. You need fuel pressure as well as fuel flow. I would put on a fuel pressure gauge as well as a glass filter before the carb.

Define cleaned the carb, please. You could ahve a very small bit of dirt trapped in a passage. If all that was done is a little spray down the throat, that does not really clean them.

With ignition, first I would do is take a multimeter and check out the coil. I can't exactly remember (which is why I have a Chiltons and a Haynes), but I know the primary is supposed to be 2 ohms. The secondary is either 8K, or 15K ohms. Check on that number.

There's some folks over at foureyedpride.com that are also pretty knowledgeable about these things.
