I think I fried my starter...Maybe??

I just got my distributor installed, and found the firing order and plugged all the wires in, but I got in a real hurry and didnt get my dad's help on how to wire the coil...So I figured the red wire goes to the part of the starter solenoid that the positive battery wire connects to...Now when I go to start the car, It wont even turn over, Im thinkin I fried my starter but maybe you guys could tell me what im doing wrong...Im really a moron when it comes to wiring

ur starter shouldnt be fried. i cant really figure out what ur trying to say so i cant help ya. did u change the selinoid too???
