Every time I switch gears, no matter what the RPM, the shifter snags right before it catches. I'm thinking it's possibly a shift fork issue.

Sooo, I want a short throw shifter anyway. Thinking of a hurst short throw. What has everyone else used for a shifter, and how do you like it?

Also, anyone have any advice on how to change the tranny fluid? Never done it before.

I dont have one nor I have used one but get an MGW. I have yet to read a review of someone complaining about one. When I get another mustang thats the first thing im getting.

On the other note I have a hurst, Its ok and cheaper than the MGW.

As for changing the tranny fluid, pop out the speedo cable and drain it that way. dump it in through the top where the shifter is.

I dont know about your transmission..but on my AOD you just had to have a huge pan underneath the transmission and unscrew the oil pan to let it drain. They didnt put drain plugz on the AOD's for some odd reason.

I'm not sure I like the shape of the MGW handle. I think the whole S shape thing looks goofy.

However, with the imput of the lovely people here on stangnet I'm leaning toward an MGW or a Steeda Tri-ax

love mine. its awesome. hasnt loosened up in the past 10k miles since ive had it. centering springs are very strong.

edit: and you can rotate the entire handle 360 degrees so you can find a good fitment. i think they also make a straight handle that replaces the double bend.

Yeah, the handle is adjustable. It doesn't look goofy when the boot is over it, you can't tell. Here's a pic where you can seem mine. I just ran the stock knob, which I love btw.
