I cleaned my K&N filter on my 5.0 the other day with the Filtercharger kit. I was pretty careful with oiling the filter, but I still think I got a little happy with it. When I first start the car up now it has a hesitation in the idle. It drops down to around 700rpms and feels like its "hiccuping" It smooths out a little after it warms up say for 5 mins or so. By the time I get to the last stop sign in my subdivision, its idling higher and feels smoother, but still a little hesitant. Once I drive most of the way to work it has a VERY slight hesitation still at idle. Drivability is fine other than that.
Does it sound like I just over oiled the filter to you guys and now the MAM is all oiled up. Is there anyway I can fix this ie. clean off the oil, or do I need to buy a freaking new one now.
Thanks for any help guys

What would I use to clean it with? Could I just use a swab with like EtOH on it, or would that harm the sensor?

Electric contact cleaner, available at any auto parts store. Just spray it off. Be very careful not to break the tiny wires.

Thats what I used. Just don't touch the sensors as they are very fragile.

Did you by chance oil the inside of the filter?

Nope, just the outside. I just have a feeling it was to heavy in some spots. I was trying to watch the dog outside and oil the filter at the same time lol. Next time I wont multitask
