Quick question RE: identifying my 302 block. I think I have it figured out, but I guess I'm looking for some affirmation. The block casting #'s are still pretty hard to make out. But after a lot of "quality time" under the car, and everything I could think of to de-gunk around the #'s, my block casting code appears to be E7TE-6015-M. My intake is E3AE-9425-HB.
After searching, am I correct that I have a 1987 302 out of an F-series truck or a Bronco? With an intake from a 1983 full-size Ford? If I understand correctly, the engine was probably assembled in '87, and the intake may simply have an '83 casting # because no revision was made on the intake. Or, of course, someone may have put an 83 intake on an 87 block somewhere along the line.
Sorry, no info on the heads. I'm not too worried about that right now. Just trying to get a rough idea what I have.
Am I on the right track? Is there any other info to decipher from these #'s? Thanks!
Bryan
