Ok, heres my problem when ever I get close to 3grand WOT there is some what of a rattling noise coming from the engine or somewhere. Someone mention that the rod bearings are going bad or its about to throw a rod. Anybody have any ideas??

It may be detonation. What's your timing set at?

Unless the rod is knocking really bad.. you shouldn't be able to hear it unless at lower rpms.

Yeah, if it were a rod you'd be able to hear it at idle before it would make audible noise at 3000 RPM. Maybe a lifter? I have a noisy lifter that really makes a bunch of noise right at 1800 RPM. Not below, or above .

Any other symptoms other than the noise? Performance issues? Vibration?
