If it only had that many miles on it, why did you have to take it apart?
I saw in the other forum you used a 160 degree thermostat. Most people do not recomend that you use that because it won't allow the engine to fully warm up.
yank the motor and have a competant shop check it out it will most likely be ok if its a low mileage never overheated motor (not overboosted or beatin on also). you might have a crack or a problem in the heads (which will be disocered if there is one since you sent them out ot be checked). good luck.
because i blew a hg. that's why.
160? cause in the summer it runs 180 witha 180 it runs 200.
i don't normally drive my car in the winter time.but had to
Gas from the combustion chamber might have gotten into the coolant. You will have to drain / flush out the old coolant and replace it with some new stuff.
oh that all got dumped
can a intake make it look like a blown head gasket?
it did blow smoke out when this happened.
i waited awhile, and nothing then when the thermostat
opened up??? it started smoking again.
could be an intake leak. but if this motor has 8k miles on it and you are running a 160* tsat and the actual temp is 180 you dont have a big enough radiator or your fan is messed up. after you figure out what happened to the motor figure out how to make your cooling system better. good luck
thanks for the insight..no i am using two electric fans off of a toggle switch..pusher/puller.
actually i think i have had a blown hg for awhile which was causing my heating problems..
i tore the heafds down, and i only found some very tiny pitting on one exhaust valve seat...
everything else was pretty good.
my head gaskets were not graphite by the way so i also think they never had seated ever.
