Hi,

Can anyone identify what this connector is for? It's on the under dash harness in the area of the heater box.

My wild ass guess is that it's for the signal flasher. If your turn signals and hazards already work well... Then that's probably not it.

No, it’s the plug for the emergency flasher switch for sure.

Ok, the emergency flasher switch is long gone in my car so that may be why I can't find a place to plug it in.

Just to clarify, that’s the plug for the actual switch that engages the flashers. It was an unusual configuration for emergency flashers. I’m not sure if the effect on the overall lights if that switch is omitted. You can find a 66 schematic or diagram and path out the wires to see the effect. Good luck.
