How do you mount the plate? With the adjustable screws at the top or the bottom? I know it has to be mounted in a certain translation to the clean air port and the manifold vacuum port but I don't know which way to mount it.

Someone must know. There must be a ton of members running this plate?

Adjustable screws facing up or facing down?

Please, anyone!!!

the plate goes between the IAC and throttle body...when you buy the plate they supply you with longer bolts that go through the IAC then through the plate and screw into the throttle body...

as far as the adjuster screws go...i dont think it matters..i mounted mine with the screws facing up so it would be easyer to adjust

BTW it does matter which way it goes. The keyway goes to the clean air port. I have the directions scanned in. They are in my yahoo photos. All you have to do is click on a pic to enlarge it and then it will have a button to download full size. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/m.byf...yahoo.com/ph/m.byford@sbcglobal.net/my_photos

Bubba Dough,

So are the adjustment screws supposed to be facing up? The IAB is pointing up in the diagram and this is why I'm confused. On my vehicle, which port would be the clean air port? The top or bottom port?

Dude stop freaking out. Just mount it, if it doesnt work flip it over. It takes like a minute to do. You dont need intructions. It cant blow up your motor. Do it.

It does nothing on my car, it didnt help at all.

It is supposed to allow you to manually meter the idle air, like a carb setup.

I've had tons of friends that have bought this plate and it was junk... Never worked on anyones car. It's actually a factory Ford part.... Came into exsistance from a TSB about the evil surging idle. This is their "fix"

I know it works for some and not for most. That being said, my 347 wouldn't idle and would die until i installed this.

That dealer doesn't know much. I got mine this past September. The Ford dealer part # F2PZ-9F939-A. That number is straight off of my receipt. It was $37. Its a special order service part.

I bought mine at mustangs unlimited
www.mustangsunlimited.com
My cam is .555 .565, it stalled every time I came to a stop. With a little playing, that POS plate made it all better, never stalls now. Believe it or not the stalling/idle surge issue is mostly related to the position of the throttle stop. Too open = not enough vacuum. Too closed = overwhelming the idle speed motor. Play with that first and make sure to keep the TPS in check after moving it. That solves most peoples problems unless you run a huge cam.
