It suppose to do that, Theres a certain command in there that it wont allow a drop to idle unless your going like less than 5 mph. I dont think you can fix that. Mabye grady and come in here and confirm this.

I've found you can have that hanging idle if you got two things outta
whack that kinda work together.

The tb blade stop screw
and
The tb air bleed screw

Basically ... you wanna have the stop screw just barely holding the blade
open to keep it from sticking on the side of the tb bore.

I have seen the bleed screw being out too much will also cause this issue

These two next things can greatly help you obtain a stable idle

You also wanna up your tb airflow value scalar a bit
and
Your ISC Neutral Idle Airflow function values as well

There are specific procedures for obtaining the best values for that
scalar and those function points

Look here in tech and tuning for info about the methods
and
I think I got some info on my site for the details as well

however

If you wanna shoot from the hip

You could add about 10% to each function cell
and
About 70% to that scalar

It should get you closer

that will help it but ive read around and people said you cant get it to go completely away because of a function of the comp, ive tried to get mine to go away, now it only hangs at like 1100 or so.

I agree ... My findings as well

I did not mean to imply you could make it go completely away.

A certain amount of that is normal and intended by Ford.

I should have made it clear my focus was on an excessive amount.

Mine drops to around 1100 while im coasting until i am almost to a stop the it drops to my 800rpm idle. Seems pretty normal to me.

Yes Hanging idle is normal to some sort of grade, how ever there is a function called "ISC Dashpot Decay Rate" where you can adjust the dropping of rpms on neutral, i have not tried that function personally but a lot of peeps use it, you can give a try
