Idle Issue (Please Help)

Well i have been having problems with my idle hunting up and down and the car stalling at intersections, so today i cleaned the IAC and throttle Body with no success. I disconnected the IAC plug and started the car and the car would not even idle. I could keep the car alive by giving it gas but as soon as i would let off the gas and the rpms came down the car would die.

Does this mean the problem is not the IAC? What could the problem be?

Please help me out thanks

what comes to mind. there are several factors which go into proper and correct idle. the throttle stop screw setting, function of the IAC, TPS, etc.

i would start at scratch and set it all up. if one component is out of whack, the other adjustments can be affected (i.e. throttle stop screw is not adjusted correctly). and if the idle is too far from stock, the puter will try to trim things it can to bring the idle back down.

have you pulled codes? dont omit ideas like a sticking EGR (allowing spent gasses at idle, which it should not), and things like that.

do you have good cold idle characteristics? how about when there is load (A/C on, etc)?

good luck.

Same thing happened to mine. I went through all the normal idle issue procedures to no avail. After that I sad fork it and I just bought a FMS 65mm T-Body which came with a new IAC and TPS...Bang...Problem was fixed. Good luck with it mang.
