I have a 5.0 mustang......the problem i have is when my car is idling its at about 500 rpms and it revs up and drops down continuously and wants to stale out..what could be the problem ? i was told because i have a performance cam it does that and i need a certain chip and my car dynotuned...is there a way around this or no???

the idle air control could be stuck shut, not allowing enough air into the engine, you could try to clean it. or the EGR valve is stuck open and allowing dirty used air into the engine, try cleaning that, it can cause idle problems. if you unplugg the mass air flow sensor, and the idle doesnt change, you might have a bad MAF sensor. my car idles around 500-600 when i unplugg the MAF sensor, and it surges a little, and begins to cut out but it keeps running. these are my thoughts.
