idle problem

I have a mustang gt 96' ,i have some problem with my idle,it stay very long a 1200 rpm,and slowly return to 650-700 rpm,i thought it was my IAC,so i clean up the valve but my problem remain...some suggestions?

If the problem has been getting progressivly worse, say
over the last 6 months, you should just get a new ford IAC. Its probably wasted.
