idles goes up at light

hey guys, I have an 88 gt 5 spd and when i push on the car a little, the idle goes up to like 1500rpm when i come to a stop light, what could be causing this?

search there have been endless lists of idle jumping problems.....so many it isnt even funny..............

I have the same problem. I'm installing a new idle control motor this weekend, I'll let you know if it fixes my problem.

The thing that fixed my problem was putting on new o-rings on my fuel injectors, I had tried everything else until a fried of mine was poking around in the engine bay and told me he could wiggle my injectors and there was a stain on the top of my manifold. They were leaking just enough to make the engine run rich and gave me an idle problem when I would hold in the clutch.

Im not saying that this speciffically will fix you problem, but its not a solution I have seen on on these boards before...

its not just ford, my dad's new crate engine is having idle problems, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
