If distributor was one tooth off, how could i tell?

Could i check that with a timing light? I just started my car after installing new heads, ported intake, Roller rockers, new maf called for 30lbs, 30 injectors, and i fired it up for the first time. it idles and runs like crap. Like it is missing or something. i checked my firing order and etc, was starting to think i mayhave the distributor one tooth off. What can i do to check this, and or resolve this?

Only way it can be "off a tooth" is if you don't have enough rotation in the distributer to get the desired initial timing. Your cars running, so your distributer is in fine. However, your initial timing could be off if you didnt't check/set it with a light yet.

If you can set 10-14 degrees....it's fine.

It's only a tooth off if the intake gets in the way and you can't rotate it to the correct timing.

If there was nothing in the way, you could stab the dist wherever you wanted and just spin in til you get 10 dgrees

Did you remove the SPOUT while setting the timing?

Yep i remembered to do that. I think I have the timing set to 10, it doesnt seem as accurate as before my tear down. The car will idle a bit, the almost die and make a bad knocking sound when it almost dies
