bnickel, the show was loaded with all kinds of interesting cars. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera with me. I am also into subtle looking cars. The Mustang has a recurring paint theme. Everything is black, with orange accents, and polished aluminum. There are no other colors anywhere on the car. Steve Dembinski painted the engine block and some other pieces under the hood orange. He sent the orange paint to the manufacturer of the guages and the calipers, and had them painted. From a distance the Mustang looks like a black car. Up close you see a little orange here and there, peeking out from behind black or polished aluminum pieces. Steve put a lot of thought into the execution of the design right down to the exact pieces that would be orange or polished, and how they would look after they were assembled. The purpose was to draw your eye deep into the car. By the way, the unfinished metal piece at the front of the car, (under the hood) will be painted black.
oh, it's definitely a very cool car, i wasn't implying it wasn't. i love the car i'm just more into the sleepy looking cars that haul ass. somthing like the indian fire vert with a big cube stroker small block that looks as stock as the exterior would be my cup of tea. i like customs like yours too, but i couldn't drive something like that, i'd be scared too scratch it. the sleepy kind of car i'm talking about i wouldn't worry about a chip or a small scratch here and there, it adds character to a car like that. if i got a scratch on something like your car i'd be worrying about point deductions. ya know what i'm saying? with my car now, i worry about scratches and stuff too just because the paint job cost so much, my next car won't have a paint job like this one does, i'm even thinking about going back to acrylic enamel on it too, LOL
ha, thos badges went for almost as much as the stroker crank. no, i think i'll stick with my original idea, the 69 XR7-GT faux-totype, it will look stock as a rock though, if they'd have ever made such a thing in 69.
