Ignition cylinder issue

I bought a BWD ignition switch (CS13) along with a Locksmart ignition lock cylinder (LC41020) and it just will not slide into the switch no matter how I turn it.
Pictures attached. Any suggestions?

The key cylinder and lock cylinder need to be indexed to match. The position for this is one click to the left (CCW) of the ACC position.

i am not sure what you mean by indexing, unless it is what you explained in your next sentence. if that is, it still wont slide in. the old one actually slides in...
im going to see about lc14010 because that looks like it would work.

I got lc14010 in and it fits and works. So, for anyone doing switch and cylinder, get lc14010 because lc14020 will not even go in even though it's listed to fit.
