I seriously probed all day to find a damn ignition on hot wire inside this car to hard wire the Passport 8500. Where the hell can I find one on my 07?!?! HELP lol
I don't know if the '07 is the same as an '05, but on the '05 model there is a connector at the key switch with 6 wires going to it. The connector is set up for 7 wires, but only uses 6. Wire #6 is the black/pink one second from the end of the plug connector. It has voltage supplied while key switch is in run or accessory and is overload protected.
I found a better way to hook up my 8500. Inside the fuse box (pass side foot well) are two unused places on the block. One is switched, one is hot all the time. Mine comes on with the switch.
under the cover on the interior lites my the interior mirror, is where i found my 12v source. its always hot till about 15 min after you shut down the car, then it goes off all by it self.
