I went to start my 93 notch and there was alot of smoke from right around the solenoid under the hood by the battery and all my dash lights went off. The only power I have is the dome light and parking lights. I pulled the ignition module off the steering column and sure enough a YELLOW wire going into the ignition module melted the insulation off of it. I put tape on it, switched the ignition module with one that I know works, switched the starter solenoid (right beside the battery), and checked all the fuses in the fuse panel under the dash. I still do not have any lights or the motor won't crank. So I ran a hot wire from the battery to the yellow wire that got melted and bam I had all the lights back and the car started with the switch. Any suggestions? I read on here about a fuse link? It seems like my problem is I am not getting power to the ignition module. Oh yeah I also test lighted some wires in the fuse panel and nothing... Thanks for your help!!

yep, there are a bundle of fusible links off the hot lug on the solenoid. I would go through each one and find the bad ones and replace them. I would first want to know why it burned (I was unclear if it was your ignition switch, and you already fixed that).

Good luck.
