Ignition Problem

Can you snap some pics and post them. The wire going to the coil will have a splice.
One goes to the ignition switch and other to the "I" term on you solenoid. With the key in the run position the ignition switch wire supplies 12v (7v to 9v if resisted) to the coil to "precharge" it. When you turn the key to the start position the ignition switch power cuts out and the "s" terminal gets power from the ignition switch to close the solenoids internal switch. This closing connects the "I" terminal to full 12v to the coil for start and connects power to the big wire going to the starter. After releasing the key then the "I" terminal cuts its power to the coil and goes back to the power from the switch to keep running.
Get a volt meter and check those wires with key on and off. Check at the coil pos side with key on and off as well.
