So my key ignition got loose and the car won't turn off. Made my way to the plastic rods that connect tumbler to the switch in the steering column. Well its
the problem. First rod ( off the key ) is NOT connected to the 2nd inside the column. And the PIN is missing. I need to figure out the best course of action.. because I cant seem to find the pin.
Is the Pin Metal? can i use a magnet
How far is the space it can go down?
Basically I dont know if Im prep'd right to get access and fix this. Cuz I can only put a couple fingers in there to wiggle.. and I cant grab or move the second plastic rod.
Ive removd the lower shrouds, driver side, removed the top steering column nuts and loosen the lower two. Removed the two side star screws on the steering column... and used the tilt to get alittle more acces.. but the wheel is hitting the seat.
Anyone got any suggestions.. i need to fix this.
