Illusions of overheating after head install

I had the heads off my car twice and every time I do this there seems to be an air bubble trapped in the system that wont go away for a long, long time, even after trying to work it out. The temp sticks at 100 when cold, then it spikes to 250 real quick but the engine isnt hot by touch. Happen to anybody else after doing a head install?

Had trouble once myself....now I take the upper intake sensor out and let the air out that way....Its easier to gage when its full...when the anti pisses out the hole....no air trapped...
I hear you though...they can be a drag sometimes....

Try sqeezing your radiator hoses when you're filling up the radiator.

Also I like to jack the car up front as high as I can to move any air to the front so it will "burp" itself a bit faster.
