I'm going to paint the engine to match the Stang, black and red. I'm using the G2 Engine Paint, it's a brush-on application. I have black Jet-Hot coated exhaust manifolds, and I'll have red spark plug wires and a red distributor cap. The block will be black and the GT40 heads will be red with the three "lines" and "GT" painted black. I won't paint the upper & lower intake manifolds right now, nor the accessories themselves. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures.

My question is this: should I paint the timing cover & water pump, or leave them as-is? If I paint them, should they be black or red?

I also wanted to paint the two front accessory brackets. Black or red? I'm thinking black.

I personally like seeing the accessories still being the bare aluminum color. The brackets look good painted/powdercoated, but I think you have to be careful with the alternator bracket, making sure that it has a good ground. The timing cover would look good painted, if the waterpump is still silver. It's just something to break up all the color under the hood.

Rio, that engine looks really sweet! I like how the bare timing cover looks against the black block, so I'll do the same on my engine. Yeah, I know exactly what I'm going to do.
