:bang: Ok I'm sick of this sh--.

Last week my car wouldnt start due to a dead brand new battery.

couldnt find the short, so i towed her to a mechanic.

he said the alternator is dead as well as the battery.

both were brand new.

so i drop a new batt in her and drive her home. that was yesterday, today i went to turn her on and batt is completely drained. this battery is 2 days old.

what the f--- is going on? i changed everything and looked through everything.

i think maybe its my voltage regulator/diode on my alternator doing this. could that cause the problem? I checked the resistance between the positive alternator terminal and the chassis, its showing 1900 ohms, is that normal??

help me, i need to fix this sh-- now and i will.

EDIT: something is seriously draining my battery, car sat overnight and battery died.

If anyone has a 3G alternator, can you please tell me how much resistance is showing between the positive lead and the casing of the alternator.

WELL.

My alternator got VERY hot and I dont mean engine temp. I mean it got too hot to touch like sear your skin. My engine is touchable, my alternator is not. From the article, a hot alternator and overnight battery drain = faulty diode!! :rlaugh:

I just need to get a new diode and I dont know where to get one specific to my alternator, its a 150 amp load boss and I dont know if the company (www.4alterstat.com) sells replacement diodes. at least i know what the problem is. :nice:
