OK,
so, i saw this orange krush mustang....pretty cool. Then someone sent me into limbo by looking at a whole bunch of other threads....pretty cool too.

now, in the mist of alllllllllllllllllllllll this.

do cobra owners look down upon us ? do they hate when we use their body parts ? like, i really want to get into the root of this.

and for the record, i respect everyones mustangs gt/mach/bullitt/cobra/ v6 and so forth. every car is uniqe and beautiful, but, this is the first time ive actually seen people upset for using their parts, particularly cobra owners. and i have nothing against them, and believe me, i'd never rock a cobra badge on my gt. thats wack. so, lets get to the talking. im sure theres one azzhole here that will enlighten me.

also, i love my gt, yea, some cobra's are cleaner, but you get what you pay for.

Our cars look a lot alike

I considered a new front bumper/hood for mine since they need paint but I think I'm perfectly content with the GT front end.

What size wheels/tires are you using?

I have frequented SVTPerformance.com for quite a while now and I am comfortable in saying that Cobra owners look down upon just about every other model Mustang, especially GT's. In fact, I see just as much trash talking (if not more) about GT's from Cobra owners as I do from any other brand loyalist.

Keep in mind that 98% of the members on SVTP are complete tools so take it with a grain of salt.

If a cobra owner ever got mad at me for having cobra parts on my car, I would very impolitely tell them to suck it.

I believe some of them do get mad tho. I could really care less. Those who get mad are not true car enthusiast. They are simply in it for bragging rights.

The way I look at it is this, it's your car. If a person would like to put cobra badges on their V6, then do it. I can give a rats ass if people don't like something about my car. Because I'm not building it for them, I'm building it for me, and in the end, that's really all that matters.

This reminds me of a gathering we had in ATX a while back. The gentleman was older but I couldn't help myself but laugh and I will paraphrase but here goes:

Man I thought my buddy and I were going to be the only people to show up! (my friend and i both have gt's his an sn 197) and then Cobra after Cobra pulled up for our cruize. I kid you not he starting saying that it was becoming a Cobra den and "who let the snakes loose". Probably the funniest thing that came out of his mouth that day was it started to rain right before we left to the spot we were going to and his words of wisdom was this, "With all this rain fallin there are gonna be snakes slithering all over the roads!"

Most of the people that I have become friends with are car guys and it doesn't matter what you drive so long as you take pride in it and I would say generally that includes a V8 (but not necessiarly). I know of a V6 that I would rock and yes he has a ton of money in it but it looks good AND moves.

Just for the record, Snakes stay hidden in their holes because they are afraid to be seen.

Ponies run free in the epic beauty.

Thats all i have to say about that.

I still think driving a Fast GT is cooler that a garage queen Kobra

Some people pay for an image... They don't like it much when people get the same attention for much less...

Somethings I don't like, but if it doesn't effect me, I could care less!

the d'bags we talk about seem to be the guys who just bought a cobra, and never owned a gt, or a lessor model...........and the way they're talking how 270hp isnt ****.....well, that did bother me a lot, because i know a hand full of gt's that'll completely destroy a cobra.

we'll see how things start going for them when these 5.0 GT's start making their way out on the street more and more. theres already a guy here, Ben i believe who has a KB 5.0 and im dam positive that'll kick a cobra right in the nutts. in fact, his previous gt will kick a cobra right in the nutts!!!

Granted 4v cobras are very stout cars! Especially Terminators and the s197 counterparts! What most hard headed Cobra owners don't realize is that you can put 10k into a baby 2v. If you do all the work your self and shop around for awhile online you can have a solid 600+ little 2v . My friend just purchased a wrecked 99GT with full top end kit, t56 and a V1 intercooled Vortech for 3000K!!! I would of jumped on that! Hes talking about building a stout bottom for the motor and droppng it in his GT. That should be a very cheap 600+ build! Also I dont care if it is slow but my all time favorite Cobra has to be the 1993 Fox body Teal cobra!

Agreed. I LOVE a Cobra, and one day WILL have an '03 Sonic Blue Terminator. BUT, I don't care for any kind of garage/dyno queen, be it a Cobra, GT, Honduh, moped, whatever. A vehicle is meant to be driven. So drive it.

True.

I'd say most Cobra owners are full of themselves.

How would that be functional? All you're doing is allowing air, dirt, and water onto the top of the intake manifold where it does absolutely no good.

I get about a 50/50 mix with some Cobra owners giving me the thumbs up and others giving me the nose up...

I don't care. I have a beautiful car.
