Didn't read the rest of the posts in this thread, but I'll say this. For a Cobra (or any other car owner) to look down on another for the type of car they drive is a douche move. IMO, ones attitude and the image they present while owning said car is what earns them the criticism. In that same respect....for an owner of a GT to go spouting off at the mouth because they added a set of gears and a CAI to their GT and thinks it puts them in the same league as a Snake makes them look every bit as stupid. I’ve noticed the biggest GT vs. Cobra animosity seems to be between the New Edge guys.

There is no denying it though. The Cobra's were better cars all the way across the board and by all definitions, the GT is a "lesser model". And where the '03-'04 models are concerned, the difference is considerably more so. To attempt to put a GT on an even keel with the later snakes is no small feat. As big a snobs as many claim Cobra owners are, I see just as many GT guys with the same old narrow minded perspective that think as long as they bolt on enough parts to beat a Cobra in a straight line...then they consider it a victory. Guess what fellas....it ain't. There's so much more to an '03-'04 Cobra than just their strait line acceleration. To sink the kind of parts into a GT that it would take to meet or beat an ’03-‘04 Cobra in all performance categories and match it’s robust demeanor to boot, you’re going to find yourself shelling out considerably more money over all and end up with a car that’s worth far less money in the end.

Cobra guys. Enjoy your ride. You’re top of the heap in the Mustang world for that year and you bought yourself a namesake as well as a nice vehicle, but remember….you’ll still get walked around the track by a 15-year-old Corvette and could very well end up staring at the taillights of a stock ’11-up GT that some teenage girls father bought her as a high school graduation present.....so don’t get too cocky.

GT guys….build your car because you like to do it and don't mind making a little compromise up front in order to build it the way you want to later on. Stick to being the envy and the benchmark of the gold plated bicycle chain, low pant, sideways hat wearing punk kids found in the import scene. Don't do it because you feel like you’ve got something to prove to a fellow Mustang owner who was fortunate enough be be able to afford the premium sticker comanded for a Cobra right off the hop and who probably couldn’t care less about you or your car in the first place. All it’s going to do is leave you frustrated and broke!

You know what's funny? There's a guy in my car club with a orange Cobra and he makes around 580 RWHP. He has yet to dip into the 11's (IIRC his best is like 12.20)... you're doing it with a N/A NPI headed car

Can't seem to find a stock mini van beating a 99-04 gt. All the videos are either modded mini vans or V6 mustangs. Its obvious they are V6s because there is no exhaust cutouts on the bumper. Still waiving the flag.

I think people are idiots to trash talk other "mustangs". If you want to trash something go trash Camaro's or something. My buddy owns a GT, Bullitt and a Cobra and 2 of them are his show and his Cobra is his daily driver. Just wish I could enjoy all 3...lol. You don't see this dude bitching!

I dont think that putting cobra or other emblems on a gt or v6 is not cool, i mean its your car so you shouldnt give a damn what other people think about it. I have a gt and it will bust any cobras ass around my area, and i will never put cobra embelms on my car, im proud that its a GT. But using other cars bumbers wheels hoods and stuff like that, its awesome, make it yours, do what you want with it. I personally want a saleen rear spoler and bumper with a cobra front end. But the gt emblems are there to stay.
All that being said, no matter what you do to it real mustang guys will always be able to tell what it really is

many 03/04 cobra guys are douchebags. Cool, you can write a check for $20,000 and have a FACTORY supercharged mustang that needs like 2 bolt on's to make 450+ rwhp. Building a GT is way more unique in my opinion. No need for them to look down on GT's. Many of them owned GT's before their cobra's.

Nevertheless, i will own a 04 oxford white cobra someday.

I love all the termi's and gt500's out there etc....and Im sure some guys say oh you say what you say cause you cant afford one....if I wanted one Id have one....but for some reason I like being the underdog.....I have so many people nod and not pay attention to my car until I got my new vanity plates (11SECGT) but I still dont see my car as fast....but after the 1st pass down the track then I have people asking me what the world is done to it.....I say just a blower Im sorry but there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING like a fast 2V GT! Some day I will finally have a 600RWHP 2v......
