auto meter gauges are great. i would say a boost gauge, A:F gauge, and fuel pressure gauge.

Ok thanks. Well.. I'm going to be purchasing everything tomorrow (hopefully) so if there's any last minute helpful ideas then speak your peace. Also, could someone answer the question above the question about the gauges for me please? Sorry for all the questions, but you guys know what you're talking about and I don't so I figure it's best to be sure with you guys. Thanks for all the help.

Nah, I'm getting the Vortech one w/aftercooler from superchargersonline.com.. it's well within my price range and seems to include everything. Hopefully I'll be able to get a hold of JMS chips soon to get my SCT reburned.

you wont detontate with out the aftercooler either.. An SCT chip will do fine. Don't bother with the A/F gauge as it's pretty much just a light show. You need an Electric Fuel pressure gauge (mechanical would have a live fuel line going to it) and a mechanical Boost gauge. The Fuel pressure gauge and everything you need to mount it will be about 200 bucks. The Boost gauge is a lot cheaper.

Forgot to mention to MAKE SURE you mount the AIT Sensor after the after cooler so it can properly read the temps of the air going into your motor. The instructions say to mount it before the blower... that's BS.

Also, you never stated which fuel system you were going with. The Steeda Dual fuel pumps are now (according to steeda) supposed to outflow the 03 Cobra pumps. You arent supposed to go below 1/4 tank of gas with them though as they'res no baffles. The 03 Cobra pumps require the tank as well, so the price is more like 800 dollars or so for the setup, but it's baffled and has proven itself on 500 RWHP+ cars.

Injectors??? Try to get 42's if ya can. They stopped producing them so the cost went up on em.

Plugs - NGK BR7EF plugs will do the trick. Advance Auto can get em cheap. I think they were under 2 bucks a piece. Gap em at 30 or so.

90 MM lightning MAF should suffice.

Good luck dude

Why mess with an aftercooler/intercooler? How much boost you thinkin' about running? With stock internals you won't be able to run safely more than 10psi. The aftercooler will infact cause your car to lose boost at low psi levels.

Get the Mongoose package from T&J!!!!!

I live in South Florida and have a non intercooled Vortech car. With my cats off it actually runs cooler than it did stock.

The aftercooler doesnt loose boost the way an intercooler does. It does however get heatsoaked while the intercooler for the most part stays the same temp

Alright well.. will I be safe with the Vortech Aftercooled Supercharger on practically bone stock internals. I heard - but I don't know - that if you leave the stock headers on with a blower it will detonate... anyone out there have bone stock everything aside from a Vortech blower with maybe some different injectors/pumps? I want to be safe, but I also don't want to spend over my bank loan that I'm taking out to afford the blower. (Aka - I don't want to purchase new headers if I won't have any problems) Thanks guys.

You're taking out a loan for a blower?

What's wrong with that? I'll be able to pay it off within 2 months. I do make a decent living. The reason for the loan - establish better credit, and get my blower a lot sooner

Question on tuning:

As soon as I get my blower from superchargersonline, I have to mail in my computer (ecu) to Vortech for them to tune it. Now it comes with the Diablo chip. I run 3.90 gears and I need to make up for the speed error... My question is, can a diablo chip have added programs on it to make up for the gears. Vortech cannot do it becuase they only have the stock settings for the chip. And I would get a speedcal but I have an Auto. I'm lost on this one

I agree with him ^^^ those are the only two gauges you really need to monitor your engine w/ the super charger. Granit headers will not hurt but its not necessary, also horse power really isn't necessary for quick 1/4 mile times. There was an article in Fast Fords and Mustangs around December or so where all they did was slap in 4:10 gears, exhaust, drag radial, underdrive pulleys, and took off the front stabilizer bar. The GT hit mid 12's (with a professional driver of course) and didn't even touch the horses. Granite the exhaust and pulleys added probably 20 extra but still what a difference. All you need to do is hook up right on the track and work your shift points and you will be fine.

2003 GT Premium Package
85mm MAF / X-Pipe w/cats full assembly / Flowmasters / 4:10 gears
Future mods soon: Hypertech Prog. (found a deal at dealer price) drag radials plus suspension (not sure what to go with yet) and suggestions would be great.

So, anyone have an idea on the Diablo Chip burn? Can my gears be added on it without overwriting Vortechs burn?

1. I'd buy a supercharger kit from T&J

2. I wouldn't take a loan out for car mods.

3. I'd buy a supercharger kit from T&J

4. Intercoolers/aftercoolers aren't as necessary as you think they are. white99gt makes 555RWHP on a vortech with no intercooler/aftercooler at all.

5. I'd buy a supercharger kit from T&J

As for the gears, just ask Vortech if they'll tune for the gears when they flash/burn a chip.

I know Tim would do it.

dude, dont get a Vortech kit, you need a tuner kit, with teh full kit your paying for crap your not gonna use... like thier POS fuel pump and worthless tune. You need a tuner kit, unless your going to listen to all the posts that told you how to go about getting the proper stuff, dont bother, cause your in for a head ache. Call Tim and just order his kit. It'll work with out the headaches I know you'll be posting about. The guys support is better than the vast majority of the answers you'll get to your questions on here.

Edit, don't bother with the diablo chip burns either.. SCT or EFI Solutions.. Don't mess with anything else.
