I'm new to all of this

I have been searching the forum and been going google crazy for a few weeks now just trying to see what some of the best or most popular mods for a 99-02 2v mustang gt are. It seems like alot of people want to go straight to a supercharger but i want to do some internals as well. Any pointers are going to be apprecieated. This car is going to be a street car that i would like to get aproximately 500hp out of. For right now it is a 2000 GT with Dragon intake, BBK 75MM throttle body spacer, upgraded injectors, Mcleoud clutch, bbk offroad x-pipe, with flowmasters, 3:90 gears, underdrive pullies. I no i want a cam that has a pretty hard lope to it but still maintains its ability to idle. Im just wanting someone to steer me in the right direction from this point. Thank you

For cams i hear the Hi-tech's are pretty much a contender right now

Hi-tech for midrange rpm good peak power naturally aspirated, yes. Otherwise, no.

ya hi-techs are great, haven't heard a lot on their blower cams though. i know they have different blower cams for centrifigal and roots/twin screw blowers

Thanks alot guys, ima half to research the hi-tech cams a little more. Any other ideas other than cam options that i should do b4 i supercharge it.

500hp is too much for the stock block so yes you will need to build the block up to handle it

I also agree with the Hi-Tech Stage II cams. I had them installed this past spring and I'm putting down 280rwhp (330 at the crank) 300tq and that's with stock headers a catted H going through an automatic. I could see you getting 300rwhp out of the Hi Techs with stock headers, X pipe and if your car is a manual and around 320rwhp (375 crank hp) with headers. You might be able to push 500hp (425rwhp) with a safe tune but you won't see 500rwhp without engine work.

What other mods did you have to do in order to install the cams? Did you replace the springs or anything else?

Also, I put down 281rwtq with my current mods and an auto.....you're only putting down 19 more rwtq with all your mods AND the cams? Am I missing something?

My mods are in my sig below. The great thing about the Hi Techs is that you don't have to replace your valve springs. What kind of Dyno did you use and how much RWHP are you putting out?
