I'm so lost.... help me out.

I dont know WTF is wrong with my car. It wont start. Cranks over fine. spark to the coil, spark to the plugs, no trouble codes. I thought it was the fuel pump swapped it out and still nothing. plenty of fuel pressure, i even pulled the dist found TDC and reset the dist so I could be sure the timing was right. I put in fresh plugs and it started for like 1 minute. Ran like **** and then died. Went to start it again and it would start. Pulled the plugs and they are soak in fuel. So.... I know its getting fuel and I know its getting spark. Any way to tell if the computer itself is bad? Should I just break down and take it to the dealer? If it isnt starting are they going to be able to help me without paying tons of money for them to track down the prob? TIA if anyone can help. Right now Im freezing my a** off on the bike every morning.

Has to be timing or firing order.

Unless it's an electrical, or computer (sorry, me and electricity have a deal - I don't try to tell it what it's suppose to do, and I don't get zapped) But if you've been romping on it (driving it like you stole it), you may have slipped your timing chain and gear set, although that problem will usually present itself immediately. Did you change out the cap wire or rotor and now have the problem? If so check what mackey posted. Maybe the coil let go - those can do that too

It could be the timing module on the dizzy. Those things just go without warning. Hope this helps.

Have someone turn over the car while you adjust the timing by turning the distributor.

yea i had the same problem after i redid my intake gaskets, come to find out the spark plug wire order on the dizzy is different then what its "supposed" to be..

Would I have to change the entire dizzy or can I buy just the timing module??

can you elaborate on that a little? Seems possible that the firing order is off. But I know the plug wires are where they are supposed to be according to my manual.

You can purchase just the timing module.

Are you referring to the TFI module? Or is this something different? I replaced the TFI module last year but it seems like it could be bad again. I know its a common problem for our years because I got a class action law suit thing about it last month.

Could be the PIP in the dist. but I'm not sure if a bad one would allow spark or not. They're a pain to change as to have to press the gear off the shaft. Unless you have a press, it's usually easier to just swap in a whole new dist.

As far as the firing order issue, the 302 and 5.0 HO have two different orders. Ours use the HO, or 351W order.

Are you saying that the 94-95 5.0 uses a diff firing order than earlier (93 and older) 5.0's?

Ours are the same as the foxes he's referring to the older 302 non HO we use the 302 HO

it shouldn't be the TFI module or the PIP in the dist. cause he said it is getting spark at the coil and at the plugs.......

But if he was getting spark to the plugs would he still have plugs soaked in fuel? If they're soaked in fuel wouldn't that equal no spark?

That part confuses me too. But I know its getting spark cause I bought a spark tester that lights up if its getting spark. This is what has me so damn lost. The only thing I can think of is it's not sparking at the right time. I just cant figure out where the problem lies.

I'm so lost.... help me out.
