When I bought my stang, I had a choice between it and another muscle car, and I chose this one, because it's my first Edge V8 stang...and I've always wanted one...but how in the WORLD do I make it faster without crack (f.i. or nitrous)

is there a good brand of Cylinder heads that I should use?
is there a certain type of intake Manifold that I should get?

I have 3.73s but I feel like I made a mistake...I have a 5 spd...so the guy was all, "DUDE you should get 3.73s instead of 4.10s or 3.90s. you'll be 60mph in second gear!

I wanna be able to eat LS1s like no tomorrow...

Welcome, but be prepared to be a little let down, lol.

As far as cylinder heads, for RIGHT NOW the only ones available are ported PI (99-04 Power Improved) heads and SVO heads (good luck finding those). TrickFlow IS releasing a new cylinder head for the 4.6 that is a completley different design, and will flow incredibly well. However, they won't be out untill '09 sometime I assume and they won't be cheap.

Fox Lake, Modular Mustang Racing, Livernois, Patriot (love or hate on them), and a few other companies all sell ported 4.6 heads.

Cams are expensive for these cars and don't offer a HUGE return without longtubes on stock heads. Expect at least $550+ for a new set, and depending on how radical they are they may, or may not need upgraded valve springs.

Your best bet on a budget is this: Gears (you have those allready, 3.73's and 4.10's are most popular), longtubes with matching mid pipe (catless is best if you can somehow get around emissions testing), K&N filter (if your not on a budget get a PLASTIC air intake), and a tune.

Then focus on getting the power to the ground, wether through sticky tires or some better control arms, shocks, and springs.

After that if you want to keep going, a catback, underdrive pullies, throttle body, and ported intake plenum will pretty much cover the bolt on list.

If you want to get rid of some weight, pull the spare tire and jack, remove the back seat... thats a free 80 lbs +/-.

With bolt ons, tune, and traction you can drive a GT into the low 13 second zone... AKA stock LS1 territory, lol. People HAVE cracked the 12 second zone and better on a bolt on car... but that is rare, and usually with more weight reduction and suspension work.

With heads and cams on that list you can drop the ET more and more, but don't expect to see any better than mid 12's on a naturally aspirated GT without alot of work going into it.

Hope that helps.
