I'm wanting to lower my car, any ideas?

H&R supersport springs, Bilstein HD shocks & struts, & Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates should do the job. The H&R ss's will lower your stang about 1.8 inches, which is just about as far as you wanna go to still maintain a decent ride quality. The bilstein's will match up better with the stiffer spring rate of the H&R's, plus your stockers will wear out fast if they arent already worn out, & be bouncy as hell. & the MM camber plates will allow you to get a correct alignment. Here is some pics of what it should look like after.

Garage queen? Why because its clean? It cant be a garage queen, cuz I dont even have a garage. It sits outside on a daily basis. I dont daily drive it, but thats just because im tryin to keep my miles low so i can supercharge it. Beleive me I drive it & I drive it hard!!! It does handle pretty damn good too!!! Plus I was slightly rearended a few weeks back & those pics were taken the day i got it back from the bodyshop. Had them put on a new chin spoiler while they were at it.That would explain the brand new chin spoiler. already got a few scrapes since then. LOL

Well then congrats on keeping it so clean and driving it like you should. Not to mention doing the right mods that compliment the mach 1 and not take away from it. ;)

Thanks!!! Its hard not to want to drive it everyday & drive my 86 Jetta instead. Actually i think i put about 250 miles on it this weekend alone just driving around Sacramento.

Oh that's right you're from sacramento. Right on. I'm going to take a drive to the bay once I get this wiring fixed back up. You do need a garage for that beast though, I won't call it a garage queen anymore. ;) Jettas are great little cars, and can still be decent enough to drive if it's a five speed.

I know what that car needs now...some tint! Blacked out limo tint. Dunno what the po-po would have to say about that though. ;)

Im hoping to get a spot with a garage soon. And yeah the Jetta is a 8V GLI 5 spd & its pretty clean too. gettin ready to lower it 2 inches soon with an H&R cup kit. Other than that, its stayin bone stock. Anyway AbsentHero, sorry for going off topic on your thread. Hopefully my original post will help you with your lowering ???'s. good luck. & heres a pic of the jetta, like any1 cares!!!

I really dig the BBS rims. I wonder how those would look on my stang. ;) That things gonna look wicked and handle well too. I had a VW quantum syncro wagon as my first car. That thing is still to this day the funnest car i've driven. It was lowered and had BBS rims like those. Mine had a 5 cyl. audi engine though and AWD and 5 speed. I wish I had kept it as a DD. Anyways have fun with the jetta it's nice! :D

Thanks...I dig old school V-Dubs & BBS's too. I had to beg my buddy for months to sell me those BBS's, cuz they are a biotch to find. I just wish it was a 16v though. By the way,I think BBS's & other old school mesh wheels look bad ass on fox bodys because they give it more of a period correct look. Plus they are an alternative to the everyday Cobra R or Pony wheels.

Yes and they're good quality too, time tested and one of the best brands in the industry, if not the best. I want to get some for my fox but like you said they aren't easy to come by and not cheap. I would like some 16's with not too low of profile tires, something with decent enough sidewall. Will look clean, different and be good for SCCA road racing which is what I would eventually like to get into. :D Another 'period correct' wheel that's starting to grow on me is the centerline billet 'star' wheels. I found a set with tires on I think it was Sac craigslist for 350. The first time listed them it was 400 so i'm hoping they will go down more.

Are you talking about these?

Those Im sorry to say, Im not too fond of. Although they are period correct. Probably good for the dragstrip though. I wouldnt pay the $500 asking price for them. Just try to find some deep dish BBS's and it will look sick. What year Fox do u have & do u have pics?? 86 Gt's are my favorite fox...

Mine is a 1987. I like the 86 gt's too. I want to get some gt moldings for behind the doors off one of those cars and the foor eyed front bumper. Have other things higher on the priority list though. The car needs paint. I have about a gallon of nice black paint with activator I plan on using. Still deciding whether to get new 6 pc. clears or get a four eyed bumper before I can paint. Getting it mechanically like new first. Almost there. View attachment 49853
