I bought an old Pontiac 6000 e-fan for the mostly stock 5.0... engine stays cold; stuck in traffic or at highway speeds.

Maybe you're in need of a new waterpump or something? have the entire cooling system checked.

dastang2 and 5spd GT, which particular model radiator are you guys using? It looks like Summit sells a lot of both Griffin and their own brand of radiators for around that price...

How do you secure the univeral radiators in a 5.0, I assume they come with some kind of brackets? Getting something universal never occured to me but looks like a good way to go...

I assume the 2 core aluminum radiators cool better than a 3 core copper one?

Any benefit to either the SN95 5.0 fan or the Tarus one, or does it matter? I'll definately look into that controller...

thanks for the help and no problem posting your question in my thread 5spd... the more people reading & giving us both advice the better...

dastang2 - Your links aren't going to a specific radiator...you need to type in the part # of the radiator you got and it will pick up a "specific" address...that is what I did...

Yeah mine does not have a tranny cooler on it...oh and it comes in a big box...ha

Yes...I seen that...I was saying to put the part # in for them and that way you can get a direct link to the radiator instead of people going to summitracing and doing it theirself...

Yeah I got mine a few years ago but it's leaking. So I called to price it and now its $149.00. I guess I'll pay a little more for the Griffin.

Mustang Parts Specialties has new 99-00 4.6 cooling fans for $99.
I'm not sure if it is any different than the SN-95's.

if your looking for the taurus fan for cheap i picked mine up off ebay for like 10-15 bucks... it is actually a lincoln contintental fan but is identical to the taurus and can be had easier bc most ppl are looking for the taurus one.

Given the lack of options for my radiator, I just sat down with my local radiator shop. They took my exisiting Volvo diesel radiator, got rid of the stock core (24"X16"), kept the frame and side tanks, and put a contemporary 18 fin/inch 3-row core in it that was a full 7/16" THINNER than the old 10 fin/inch core it came with. They offset it to the front of the tanks (front of the car) to give me as much room for my electric fans as possible. Also added a drain valve where I wanted it, and a threaded bung for a temperature switch. Also took the atf cooler plate/fittings out. Cost me about $180 and it works exceptionally well.
