Info on roots style supercharger that mounted on bracket to front of engine??

I remember years ago there was a roots style supercharger that mounted to the front of the engine near where the MAF is located. Does anyone remember this supercharger?

The BBK Instacharger. I think it was based on the Eaton M90.

Anyone remember this? I was flipping through an old MMFF (august 98) and saw the bbk instacharger. I have never heard of this before and it looks wild! Its a roots style blower, but it mounts around where the MAF area is. Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen it before. Obviously they dont make it anymore...
