Hey guys I tried a search but really not sure what I was even looking for. I posted a while back that my car has this hissing noise at idle like a tss tss and is completely inconsistant so its hard to link it to anything. I notice when i rev it up, the noise wont happen but when the rpms come back down, instantly the tss tss is at its most intense time directly after. Someone said it sounded like the injectors playing catch up. Does this sound logical to you guys? Becuase also last few mornings when I start her up and drive, when I give it gas it feels like its going to cut out like its starved for gas for about 5 seconds or so, then finally it goes fine. Does this sound like these 2 could be related both having to do with injectors? I have an 03 auto with 50k. Thanks.

nah only thing ive done is put on exhaust and the tss tss (which does sound like air escaping somewhere) was there even before I did the exhaust. I had a ford mechanic do a quick 10 minute look and he said all lines looked to be in good condition and well sealed. He recommended taking the intake out and putting it back together but everything looks good to me on it so I don't really see the problem. I have a K&N that was on when I got it. It didn't make it the noise when I got it but it is something I might have not really noticed.

Is he talking about the removing the air intake or the entire upper intake? If it is the air intake it couldn't hurt to make sure everything is tight.

I don't think it is injector related because it would be a inconsistent miss under load...not hesitating over all. It isn't throwing any codes?

Haha funny you mention this becuase It is, but i just put the exhaust on (its catted but i heard bassani catted x sometimes throws the mil). It threw it about a week after though. So I really dont know. I might just take it on to have a mechanic look at it becuase theres quite a bit going on that could be related to anything. I just dont want them to ass end me with charges for something simple.

oh and he was just saying, take out the piping everything inluded in the air intake, not like the intake manifold, put it back together. I guess I could give it a shot.

and, people say air/vacuum leak but, if it was, maybe its just my novice self speaking, but wouldn't the noise get louder when i give it gas since its sucking more air in, instead of going away for the most part until the rpms drop.
