i cracked 2 stock injectors earlier this month (they were in a bag and i dropped a heavy object on the bag ) now i'm short 2 injectors, so i want to go to the junkyard and grab 2 new ones off another car so i have a set. what other vehicles have the same injectors (19 lb) with the same connector?...... 5.0, crown vic or f150? how can i tell if they're the same?

I assume you just broke the pintle caps. You can replace them for $5 for both inj inc o-rings and plastic washers.

pintle caps are the part that spray's the gas right?............. if so where do i get these?, cause ya thats what i cracked

No the pintle sprays the gas. The cap is the plastic piece on the end. I get them at NAPA. They call them "seal kits". Sorry I have no p/n handy.

Yup. Before installing them let them sit in boiling watter for a few mins. This will soften them up. If not they break.

the pintle caps help to atomize the fuel in regard to improving the spray pattern.

Fuel injector seal kits with 2 O rings and a pintle cap (Borg-Warner P/N 274081) are available at Pep Boys auto parts. Cost is about $2.74 per kit.. The following are listed at the Borg-Warner site ( http://www.borg-warner.com ) as being resellers of Borg-Warner parts:

Most of the links above have store locators for find a store in your area.

Use motor oil on the O rings when you re-assemble them & everything will slide into place. The gasoline will wash away any excess oil that gets in the wrong places and it will burn up in the combustion chamber.

so after runnign around the city, looking for these things (4 hours, I don't like to give up) with every place i went to sending me somewhere else.... even napa said they don't stock them and said i would be better off getting them in town, istead of them trying to get them out of the states (thanks napa ) i ended up at a transmission place (ya thats right a tranny place) turns out the they are a fuel injection place as well, i had no idea of this (BTW thanks Motions Performance in Winnipeg for tipping me off to go there )

so i go there and they are $2.50 a pop CDN, i picked up 2 for the cracked ones.

how exactly do i get these on without cracking them? and how do i get the old cracked ones off with out damaging the injector?

Snap on, snap off..
Personally, I never worried about the old ones when I had replacement parts in hand. I pried them off with whatever was handy.

FYI, the only thing the pintle caps really do is to keep the O ring from sliding off the injector.

A tip from one of Giddyup306 other posts

"A word of wisdom is put the pintle caps in boiling watter for a few minutes to soften them up. This virtually iliminates all breakage. "

I just changed all eight on mine. The boiling them in water trick is the way to go.
