Inner Tie rods

What causes your inner tie rods to go bad? I have 80k on my car and have had two new inner tie rods on the passenger side of my car and it is ready for another one. The stock one on the drivers side is fine. Why does the passenger side keep going out?

Should I replace the whole rack this time? And if I do should I get:

Anyone have any experience with that AGR rack in a 99-04? On Latemodel Restoration's website it says that fits a 99-04 but on Summitt's site it only has that rack for 96-98. What is the difference between the 96-04 racks?

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks for the help.

I'd think if a person took a freeway to work every day with a cloverleaf on-ramp, the passenger side tie rod might wear more than the driver's side. Other than that, I don't kow. I DO know I've ben in that situation before and not had one tie rod need replacing, much less two, but everybody is different

I was just curious as to how you knew the inner tie-rods were going out. I mean I understand your asking how it happens but is their any sound or anything that you wold have to hear to know they're gonna need replacing.

Put a pebble in an empty soda can shake it.

Pretty much what it sounds like as you're driving.

The first thing I notice is when I back up with the wheel full lock it sorta jumps. The outside wheel whatever direction you are turning is the bad inner tie rod. It gets slowly worse till I replace it, then it backs up smoothly. But what VEE EIGHT said is exactly what it sounds like it you are next to a wall on the freeway.

jack up the front of the car and shake it side to side. if you can feel the play while holding the inner thats your problem.

i would guess you have been using cheap parts. buy MOOG tie rods and that should solve your problem. they should not go out that often
