Does anyone know where you can get the woven fabric "tube" that slides on to the rod that connects the remote opener to the latch assembly on a 65? Also does anyone make replacement springs for the latch assembly. My large spring is broken and a new latch runs 60 bucks?

I may have an extra fabric tube. I may also have another latch. Which side do you need? (I'm guessing the driver's side) I'll have to wait until this weekend to check for it though.

Yes it is drivers. My tube is in two pieces it rotted or broke at the clip that fastens it to the door. It looks like the spring is peened in on the gear of the latch. I am not sure if it would be hard to pry out or if i should just replace it.
(The whole latch) My car is all original and i would like to replace with a take off from another car or NOS.

My car was built on august 22 of 64. I have some 64.5 stuff and some 65 stuff. If your tube is in good shape I would be interested. I am going inside the rh door this weekend because the window works like crap. hope I don't find any suprises in that side. Give me a post back if you find the latch.
