Was installing some mods on the car and found the power steering pump mounting bolts loose. Total of 4 holding it on I think.

One was all the way out hitting the frame
one was loose
one is GONE
one was holding the dang thing on, if it went BOOM !!

This is on the drivers side BTW.

Car has only 1700 miles on it.

Did anybody find theres loose ?? Is there 4 total ??

TIA

Which bolts are you looking at? I see at least 2 studs holding the pump to the block. I did not look too closely at the bottom 2.

If the pumps are anything like the pumps used on the 4.6 2V cars, then Ford only uses THREE bolts. They used to use 4 bolts but one of them was right behind a power steering line and was nicknamed "the evil bolt" because of how much of a PITA it was to remove that bolt w/o first removing the line. Ford finally caught on and used 3 bolts since that 4 bolt wasn't necessary.

Does your P/S pump vibrate or wobble while idling? That's an easy way to tell if your bolts/studs are loose.
