I just moved to NJ. Is there a place that I can get the car inspected that won't try to rip me off or fail me due to custom parts. My car is legal It passes inspection in NY

Any help would be apprciated

State inspection is free in NJ, as long as you bring it to one of the state run facilities.

If your car is illegal, you'll have to bring it to a shop and grease some palms.

i just got mine inspected on rte. 70 at the inspection station, and it passed. In fact they didn't even do emissions test on me. They looked underneath and saw i had cats (and saw the headers by letting out a "wow"). He might have not done the emissions testing b/c it was an 03 and still had the new car tag on it but i dunno.

For some reason he first asked me if it had an 3.8 or a 4.6 and i said 4.6 so he then said "good" . Don't know what the deal was with that. But who cares i passed.
