Alright so I did away with my K&N aircharger and decided to replace it with a JLT cai and also installed a custom tune by Doug at BamaChips, and all I have to say is WOW :D I should have done this sooner! No more trouble codes, and the power feels a lot smoother throughout the entire rpm band, and holding the rpms on a launch is much easier now. I just got done taking her for a test drive and could not keep my foot off the fun pedal, but do have one concern. When I slow down and go back to idle my rpms go way down to around 400 - 500 and I feel a shudder like it's fixing to stall and it hangs there for a couple seconds and goes back up to the normal 750ish that it usually idles at, anyone else have this trouble and know what's up? I just emailed BamaChips but also figured I may get a reply back from someone with experience a little quicker. Any ideas guys?

Other than that she's a whole new beast, and she's going to get me into trouble lol :D

Ok so I let the car sit for a while and then took her for a spin again and here we go again with the trouble codes, this is what I got from reading the diagnostics:

P0133
O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

I have gotten this code almost daily since I installed my headers....maybe I should replace the O2 sensors? I'm baffled, anyone else who may have experience with this dtc I appreciate any advice! It only seems to throw the code if I cruise at low rpms (below 2500) within about 10 min of starting the car....this seems very odd to me, there has to be another solution other than staying in low gear for 10 minutes.

mine does it to but i have the c&l racer with breenspeed tune for 93 octane. it does seem like it wants to stall, like its trying to find the right idle speed. sometime when its been running for awhile it doesnt do it but for the most part it does. ?. when i redid the stock setup , it did it but not as bad. would be nice to know too!!!!! vynle

I had the same problem with the shuddering and low rpm idle. Took off the JLT II and reinstalled making sure the clamps were tight, but not overly tight. Tested again, been running great for 2 months since!

I went from a 13.42 @ 101.80 mph to a 13.151 @ 102.98 mph with the JLT and tuning. It was 10 degrees cooler however but still a nice gain. Not sure I would say a couple tenths changes it into a beast though.

I have since taken the JLT off. Just can't get used to the looks.

Well the idle problem has pretty much gone away over the last few days (weird). I checked my sensors and everything seems to be a ok but I haven't seen a cel since anyway so who knows...

And not to say it wasn't a beast before....just things are running a lot better now and it seems to be a lot more responsive and has more pick up. It may not be fast by everyone's opinions...but I went from a 01 v6 auto to this so it's definitely a beast in my opinion :) Especially considering all my friends are still driving their 4 banger honduhs with rims and coffee can exhaust :rlaugh:
