Also, I thought you're supposed to GROUND the #17 wire??

You do. I addressed this around post 4.

12 volts to Pin 14 and ground Pin 17.

High speed should come on with Max AC.

This is not just any electric motor. There were issues with high speed seizing, connectors overheating, etc. Hence my precaution of not constantly going from off to high speed. To each his own.

well, I installed it and all is well. I'll take it for a spin sometime and see how it does. Should be a big difference in cooling since the A/C cools it right down.. maybe even better because there' won't be a hot condensor to pull the air through!
