Well, i finally got the magnaflow x-pipe installed this past weekend, kept the flowmasters on it. It sounded a little different than the stock h-pipe, maybe a little louder. On the drive home, i noticed a slight whistle sound, which i thought might be the fact i didnt connect the egr tube yet because i didnt have a welder. Today, i went to the muffler shop and got my dynomax bullets put on and some turn downs, the muffler shop also got the x-pipe to sit a little higher cause it was pretty low before. As soon as they fired it up, i was amazed, it sounds awesome! Like before though, when driving home and getting on it, i noticed the whistling type sound, almost sounds like a supercharger whine or even a turbo. It doesnt sound bad, but its different. A z28 pulled up to me and started throwing revs, i exchanged a few revs of my own, when the light turned green he stayed behind while i took off, those bullets are sweet at WOT. I think i scared the guy... but anyways, does anyone have an x-pipe and know what im talking about. Im definetely happy with how loud it is and i feel like it does pull harder too, but im not completely sure if i like the whistle kinda sound. I just wanted to know if this is normal? Or if anyone even knows what i mean? Im worried that maybe there is a leak somewhere that the guys at the muffler shop didnt catch, maybe at the headers? any ideas? I will try to get a sound clip up soon. Overall though, i think its a great combo. Its got a nice tone at idle as well at low rpms, and screams like hell at WOT.
