Just got through installing a GT-40 upper and tmoss ported lower explorer intake today and all I can say is that it is pretty damn sweet. Haven't gotten any new dyno #s yet but I can feel a definite difference and I got to say I like it.

Just wanted to say thanks to tmoss for the quick work and nice job he did on the lower intake. Looks good and runs good. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have some new dyno #s. The last ones are in my sig.

Any guesses as to what the new #s will be?

Your very welcome - thank you for your patronage. You didn't list your head change! You did change them right?

Haven't done the heads yet. I made myself a commitment when I started modding the car that anytime I was doing something major, i.e. intake, heads or cam that I would dyno at the beginning and then after each one. besides I don't have the heads yet. . I will email you copies of my dyno sheets after each major mod if you want. still have to dyno it after the intake.

Theoretically, you would have to put the new heads and the stock intake on to actually see what the heads did on their own. Obviously the heads and the intake should complement each other and make larger power gains together than they would seperately.

The intake ports are a little bigger than the stock E7 head runner as this intake was ported for your future heads. Not what you normally want - this will be a restriction at higher air velocities and may affect dyno numbers some. You'll still see a gain but maybe not quite what you would had they been made for an E7 head - actually, for an E7 head they don't need much if anythig. You could work #1 & $5 to balance flow but that's about it - not worth even $100 imho.

Good luck on the dyno. Be sure to reset the computer if you haven't already and do lots of WOT charges and stiff part throttle acceleration to get the curve right.

You'll get plenty of power potential when you put the new heads on.

I figure build it with a plan in mind. That is why I went with having tmoss port it out. I hate having to do things over again because I changed my mind midstream.
