Hey, I'm putting my engine in after a long long time and I can't remember the best method. I did it when I was 16 but don't remember how I did it. I trried putting the engine in without the transmission but the headers are in the way. I think I need to connect the transmission first but what about the headers. When do they go in. I'll keep trying but if any if you have done this recently I would love to hear how it went. Thanks!

Transmission bolted on ,raise the front of the car ,may have to drop the drag link down , start motor and tranny into engine bay ,set headers in engine bay ,going to need two people . As the motor goes down set the headers in place at the head and put all bolts on but leave very loose ,just before the motor seats on mounts and while you can still get at the header flange bolts tighten them and seat the motor .

Is it best to attach the headers when the engine is still tilted or lowered and level?

When ever the header will reach the head good enough to get bolts to start
