I know it's been done, but has anyone here ever installed a '67 aluminum dash in a '68? There's a set on ebay now from Sacto Mustang and they state that it will not fit '68's due to different switch locations in the dash. Soooo, what's involved in the swap? Any pics of specific mods? Thanks!

You can switch the bezel itself and the only problem you would have is if you have the seatbelt light in the dash. Somebody was making some nice aluminum inserts for a 68 bezel but I don’t remember who. It was actually aluminum and not the crapy stickers you often see.

The gauge locations are different between the two years but if all you are doing is changing the bezel then you will not have a problem.

I can get you the brushed aluminum dash for a '68. It comes with the bezel and all of the panels and is an exact match to original '67 deluxe trim, but is '68 stuff. Email me if you're interested.

Get in touch with Burton Antique Auto. Also comes with the bezel. Here is a link to his ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968...ItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ019QQitemZ8035985257

Phone number is in the auction. Speak to Mort Burton. He is one helpful person.

I just bought the '67 kit. Very well done.

That looks exactly like what I want. The other kit I saw included a complete guage bezel, but only the inserts for the other parts, which means I'd have to buy all the other dash panels, then hope I could get the inserts on straight. This looks like a much better way to go, thank you.

Yes, Burton is where I get them from, and having tried every brand I concluded that Burton is all I will ever use. It's as good as it gets.

I'm placing an order with them today, so if you want in let me know.

I hope this isn't too late, but I just saw it. First, am I too late? Second, can you beat the ebay price Burton has? Thanks, Jim

Not too late. I got too tied up to order today.

Burton vigorously enforces pricing -- nobody can sell anything one penny less than his retail price or you're cut off forever. It's actually pretty nice, as this protects small guys like myself from just being undercut by the giants who can afford to do so. I think the price for the full kit is $365. What is Burton's eBay price?

The buy it now price up there is $350

I had difficulties negotiating with him. The quality is there but they gave me several different answers on a buy in. Each person we spoke to gave us a different answer. So I just gave up trying!

I already found that out. A freind of mine has a '67 coupe and a '68 dash in his parts bin, the bezel looks very much to be a bolt-in, but it's nice to hear good things first-hand from those who've used the Burton stuff, that's for sure.

Thats a very good policy. When I spoke with Mort, you can tell he is a straight shooter and old school.

Yes, Mort is the real deal. I enjoy chatting with him.

Actually, I believe the policy is that you can sell his stuff for whatever you want, you just can't advertise it anywhere for less than MSRP.

I'll do the same as his eBay price -- he can't fault me for that.
