Installing a spool and axles..some ?'s

If you were to install a spool/ axles, will the backlash need to reset on the ring/pinion gear, or is it a simple driveway/jackstand swap...Iv never removed a rear before...help me out

If I had to guess i'd say no it wouldn't but i'd still double check it just to make sure. I'd assume that since you'd leave the pinion in all the adjustments would come from the shims behind the carrier bearings.
