installing cobra brake kit - answer my questions!

i will be installing a complete cobra brake kit this weekend, and i want to be sure i'll have everything i need before i start. according to the corral writeup ( http://www.corral.net/Tech/Suspension/CobraBrakes/Page_02 ), in addition to many other things, i will need:
Small Caps for plugging open brake lines
A selection of brake line wrenches
Copper crush washers

will the kit i ordered from performance parts inc. (mustangparts.com) include the washers or brake like caps? and what do brake like wrenchs look like? are they really needed?

will i need to make a trip to the autoparts store to pick these up?

OH-another important question: how many 12oz cans of brake fluid will i need? the ford guy told me 2. is this true?

the cobra brake kit i purchased included everything needed...calipers, rotors, brackets, pads brake lines, and banjo bolts/washers

cool, so you didn't need any "special" brake line wrenches? did the kit come with brake line caps? and do you remember how many cans of brake fluid you needed?

havent done it yet...dont need the caps if you just pull the old line off and put the new one on...dont bother with the small bottles, just get at least 2 of the larger bottles and completely flush the brake system while you are at it

ok, the kit came ups today, and it will be going on tomorrow. three questions:

1. will i need ANY special tools?

2. what the hell are these clips for and where the hell do they go? they came with the rear brake pads. i can't seem to figure out how they go with the new pad brackets and calipers. there are two for each pad.


3. will i need anything to bleed the brakes besides the one-man brake bleeding kit and brake fluid?

btw, sorry for the blurry pic. i and my camera suck. also, thanks for the help gtphreak!

Those clips go on the end tabs of the pad and slide right into the caliper. So your calipers didn't come loaded with the pads already?
You don't need caps and you don't need a line wrench. Just be careful not to strip the nut if it is hard to get turning. Use a lot of WD 40 on it. When you disconnect the line just have the caliper there ready to attach and just don't let the brake resivoir go dry. You will need to bleed the brakes and the one man kit is fine but better if someone helps you push the pedal while you turn the bleeder valves.
One large can of Brake fkuid is all you need. Crush washers should already be in your kit attached to the pin that goes through the end of the caliper to hold it together.

get a vacuum pump/brake bleeder from autozone...will cost ~30 bucks and make bleeding the brakes a BREEZE

jr, thanks for the help, i know you've done this and hoped you would see this thread! the front calipers came assembled, but the rears did not. i now understand where the clips sit, but riddle me this: do only the rear clips actually lock in place (see first pic)? is this how the front clips should sit, not locked (see second pic)?

also, how many ounces are in a large can? i have 2 12oz cans of ford brake fluid and plan on grabbing a couple more in the morning just in case.

jr, did you also swap out the rear brakes?
