Its been a while since i installed a AT in a car so i need to refresh myself. I am putting the motor in my recently acquired 96GT, my ? is do i need to bolt the Torque conv. to the flywheel and just try and walk the engine in place or do i need to put tc on the tranny and then drop engine in and bolt the tc to the flywheel. Its just been a while and i wanted to ask before i start.thanks keith

It's vital that the torque converter be fully seated on the transmission. There should be two clicks as the TC seats.

Rotate the motor and transmission only in the forward direction. NEVER turn the TC backwards. It will disengage from the input shaft and bad things will happen.

Pre-rotate the TC converter bolt holes to line up the with inspection/access holes. Rotate the motor to match.

Turn the motor clock wise (CW) from the front crank shaft damper.
