i sorta agree but i would not feel good about that, especially telling someone i dont know to do it (he may not have the 'feel' for torque values that you or someone else does).
we dont even know if he is working on the front or rear suspension, do we?
i like knowing the torque specs, cuz even if i do not use a torque wrench, i know how much to reef on stuff. i.e. i will take it easy on 100 ft/lbs, but if something calls for 180, i can really go to town. you dont want a suspension bolt coming loose - especially since the front LCA bolts are not captured (no cotter pin or castle nut).
Sirsure, im not in disagreement with you - just not something i would let a stranger do ( i have some weak friends whom think that 50 ft/lbs is a ton of torque) - that is where im coming from.
The only part of a car that I use proper torque is on the heads and intake manifolds.
Everwhere else simply by feel, just like how sirsureshot39 said.
The bigger the bolt and the finer the threads, the more torque they can take!

agreed.i only figure to torque the bolts in critical areas... as mentioned above like heads intake, clutch and engine parts.
one mor ething, when you torque down control arms, make sure the weight of the car is on the part of the suspension, like in normal operating way. if you tighten them down qith the suspension extented, the bushings will squeak and it wont feel right
Thanks for the info so far and let me clarify. I am putting on HPM Mega Bite Jr. Lower control arms and was just wonder if there were certain torque specs I need to use when Installing the control arm back to the diff and to the body of the car. Thanks for all the info again.
