Installing Motor Mount

Much like changing the oil pan. It's necessary to support the motor from above and lower the K-member.

Removal
NOTE: The front engine support insulators are located on each side of the cylinder blocks. The procedures apply to either a RH or LH installation.

Remove engine compartment brace from front fender aprons (16055) and dash panel (01610).

Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .

Raise vehicle on hoist.

Remove starter motor (11001). Refer to Section 03-06 .

Remove two nuts retaining battery ground cable and HEGO connector bracket to LH front engine support insulator.

Remove nut retaining transmission cooler tubes bracket to RH front engine support insulator.

Support the engine using a jack and wood block placed under the engine.

Remove the nuts retaining front engine support insulators to the crossmember.

Raise the engine sufficiently with the jack to disengage the front engine support insulator studs from the crossmember.

Remove the front engine support insulator assembly to cylinder block retaining stud bolts.

Remove the front engine support insulators.
